The brief
HoneyCity planned, directed, shot, edited and graded this Huawei Mate20 Pro film. A date at a restaurant and a walk through the city at night gave the phone’s AI camera a personal story.
Film concept
The premise is simple: the person across from you is all you see. Huawei’s color-isolating feature keeps her in color as the background falls into grayscale. The composition follows the perspective of her date.
On set
The crew built a helmet-mounted camera rig to capture the small natural movements of a person’s head. Costume and makeup tests helped shape a character distinct from the performer’s familiar image as a musician.
