The brief
A flagship smartphone film for Huawei, conceived, directed, shot, edited and graded by HoneyCity. The challenge was to find a setting where the Mate20 Pro’s ultra-wide camera could take the viewer somewhere unexpected.
Film concept
The phone’s waterproof accessory suggested an opening that could travel from a dive above the surface to the underwater world below. We chose Green Island for its layered seabed and marine life.
On set
Our crew and the professional dive team scouted the locations more than once. Together we tested the waterproof setup, worked through the compositions underwater and assessed each move for safety.
